Norcross in New York City in the 1920's. In 1974 the company relocated to West Chester and Exton, PA, where in 1981 Norcross and the Rust Craft Company merged to form divisions of a parent company. The Rust Craft Greeting Card Company, was begun as a little bookshop by Fred Rust in Kansas City, Missouri, 1906. He consolidated his business in Boston in 1914. In the 1950s the company relocated to Dedham, MA and in 1981 merged with Norcross it was sometime during the transitions or liquidation of these companies this piece of art work was purchased by note illustration art collector Charles G. Martignette and remained in his collection and later saleed by his Estate after his death, other portions of the both company's collections were donated and are now archived at the Smithsonian Institution Museum in Washington DC Norcross & Rust Craft Company published many works by prominent artist of the era like, Susan Morris, F. Massa, Greg Giordano, Rudy Nappi, Norman Rockwell, Joseph Giordano, Dean Cromwell, Marjorie Cooper, Frances Wosmek, Mabel Lucie Attwell, Charlot Byj,creating whimsical subjects relating to children, Valentine, Easter & Christmas holidays, birthdays, many of the company's artist went on to be successful Children's Book illustrators...
