There is so much in each issue it is impossible to cover it all, but included are a vast number of detailed illustrations of clothing, dresses, hats, accessories for adults and children, some musical notation, articles on the arts, serialized stories, articles on some sports, especially bicycling, many articles on different crafts such as embroidery, lace making, pattern making, cooking, women's cultural and educational clubs, activities, tatting, netting, social topics, manners, articles on china, linen, and many more topics. Each issue has a large number of mostly illustrated advertisements which are a delight in themselves, lots of miracle working lotions, creams, corsets and braces of all kinds. Each issue offers a fantastic glimpse into the life of "cultured" women in the late 19th century in US and beyond, with emphasis on clothes and fashion. Lots of fine engravings of wasp-waisted girls in incredibly elaborate clothing! 32 pages. 11 inches tall.
