This is the King Sundew- Drosera regia. It can get about 2 feet in diameter if grown well to maturity. This plant is amazing because its leaves can curl around bugs to better digest them (sometimes it will do double curls!).

This plant (Photo 1) is at leat 3 inches in. tall and 3 in. indiameter and is over 2 years old and was propagated from a root cutting (much faster growing to maturity than from seed.Photo 2 is its more mature parent plant.

Grow this plant on the tray method with a peat or long fibered sphagnum mixed with perlite.Strong light with good humidity is also needed. Can also be grown under strong light, near a window (east or south is best.). Will also do well in terrariums.

Temperature is very important- cool nights (50-60) with warm days. (65-85).

This plant can be grown year-around if light, temps., and humidity are maintained well. If not, the plant may experience a dormancy where it returns to a resting bud.
