about the artist :
A painting from the Betzalel school of Jewish Art in Jerusalem. He worked from the beginning of the 20th century, close to 30 years with breaks, stemming a "classical art" movement which combined several different styles: classical European with Eastern art.Harav Ron Cohen, born in Haifa in 1957. Living in Jerusalem, in the village of Ein Kerem, he painted landscapes of Israel in watercolors and oils. Ron studied at Bezalel and was influenced by the old Bezalel art of its founders - the opposite of the usual modern artistic trend. At the age of 20 he became religious, and at 30 moved to Safed. He built his home and started to develop Judaica and the illumination of Hebrew manuscripts such as Ketubot, Megillot Ester and Haggadot of Pesach, etc.The magic of Safed enveloped the artist with a unique spirit and his work acquired a very special quality. His creations are illuminated in an oriental style - ancient Persian, with particular sensitivity. The landscapes that are seen in his pictures arouse longings for the beautiful and holy Biblical land of Israel.Ron Cohen is a master in Israel in Oriental Jewish Art. Made exhibitions in N.Y. And Paris.
