The following information I acquired from the internet:
This beautiful, rare collectors clock is an original design created to celebrate the coming of the new millennium, the year 2000. This unique timepiece is fitted with a solid brass 8-day wind-up movement created exclusively by Hermle & Sohn of Germany and consists of a cobalt blue glass earth-globe accented with 24 carat gold, a satellite moon of blue lace agate and a time band which revolves with the moon as it circles the globe. It also contains a battery operated digital display that counts down the days to the year 2000 and can be re-set to display the current month, day and year. The Royal Geographical Society Millennium Clock is embellished with richly engraved plates and rests on columns of genuine marble accented with 24 karat gold. The entire work is mounted in a clear glass dome. This heirloom clock is an official issue of the Royal Geographical Society, crafted in the materials with a wind-up movement by Hermle & Sohn, and available only through The Franklin Mint. There is a small, discreet drawer that contains the wind-up key, controls for the digital display & a brass nameplate. This clock uses a standard LR44 battery for the digital display.
THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL buyers!!!!
