The Ten Thousand Dollar Poem:
It's all handwritten, no copies. I'm not going to type it up.
I wrote it in the bathtub this winter.
A red bulb in the magic mushroom lamp, some candles, a jar of pens by the bar of soap. Some Mary Jane now and again. No edits.
I wrote it in dropped it in the tub twice. The ink didn't run. The pages dried after a few days. There's some light blue color from the back cover material that seeped through and gave the last few pages a little daytime sky flare.
Sexual fantasies, a gnome, a letter to Tom Waits, goofy dreams, bold declarations, personal mythology & history, alter-egos and love poems, money meditations, bizarre celestial orgies . . . it's part journal I 'spose, rhythmic flip flap with some bighearted bragging and pondering. All Hip Hop. Basically a train with wings / No rails. That's a line from the poem.
