The Unfinished Portrait Of Franklin Delano Roosevelt 1945 Rare Signed 1st Edit. For Sale
You are offerding on a Vintage Limited First Edition print from 1945 of our former President Franklin D. Roosevelt that is signed by the artist Elizabeth Shoumatoff.
At the bottom on the left side it reads:
Reproduced from the Original Portrait which was being painted at Warm Springs,Georgia, at the time of the President's death on April 12,1945.
At the bottom right hand side it reads;
The Unfinished Portrait of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
In smaller print above both of those it reads;
Copr.1945 by Elizabeth Shoumatoff Pan American and International Copyright Reserved Gimbel Brothers,Inc. N.Y. Sole Publishers Limited First Edition.
Above all that it is signed by the artist Elizabeth Shoumatoff 1945.
This print is in its original framing but does not have any glass over the front which I believe is the way it came originally.
Now before offerding please view all my pictures and read the description I am about to write very carefully.
This print does have a tear in the right side of the print on the paper. The tear does not run into the portrait part of the President
but I want you to know it is there. There are also a few little dings on the left side of the print near the edge. Both of these
I speak of are in the pictures I have taken to show you the exact detail of this print.
These two areas would be easily repaired by a company who specializes in repairing vintage prints or photographs.
I thought about taking this out of its original frame and placing acid free tape on the back of the tear to keep it from getting worse
but I have decided to sell it like it is and let the buyer get a professional to repair this because it is such a great vintage piece of art and I do not want to do anything that would make a professional repairers job any harder.
So it will be up to you if you buy this to have it repaired. I am suggesting if you buy this to have it repaired so it doesn't tear anymore than it
has already. I bought it in this condition.

That is why I am giving you the best details I can of any damage this portrait has. I usually only sell things that do not have damage but when you have a piece this old usually it is going to have some type of wear and tare to it. I have taken plenty of pictures so you can decide for yourself if this is something you want to purchase. I do not take returns on any of my sales and the reason why is because I do my best to describe my items just as I have this one so that you know exactly what you are buying when you offer on it.
