Item Condition:
Very Good; The rod has been used but well taken care of after every fishing trip. It shows signs of NORMAL assembly wear on the male ferrules and/or LIGHT surface scratches on various parts of the blank. The reel seat hardware shows oxidation or SMALL dings from reel attachment. Overall you will be pleased with the rod’s condition, but it still looks moderately used. ALL PICTURES ARE OF ACTUAL ITEM.

Thomas & Thomas DH 9140-5 (14' 9wt) Spey Fly Rod DH1409-5
Mr.
Ubiquitous strikes again. The T&T 9140-5 Spey rod covers all the bases,
from Atlantic salmon to monster British Columbia steelhead; not too
over-powering but then again the strength and power need for big fish
and big lines. Spey casting on western rivers usually means heavy flows
and heavy sink tips needed to get down into the strike zone, the DH Series 9140-5 with its medium-fast action gives you
the pop to get shooting heads or Skagit lines out with relatively little
energy on your part or to blast big distances needed on the big
European rivers.
Thomas and Thomas Double Handed RodsThomas & Thomas
double-handed rods combine crisp, commanding actions and feather light
swing weights with the highest level of custom rod craftsmanship.
Advances in double-handed casting techniques and improved specialty fly
lines call for rods which can be used for both Spey and overhead styles.
Originally designed for salmon and sea-trout rivers, two-handed rods
now fill many non-traditional roles. Thomas & Thomas has been the
leader in this development. Whether an angler is on the hunt for giant
king salmon in Bristol Bay, Baltic salmon in Scandinavian rivers or
steelhead on classic North American rivers, elegantly-crafted Thomas
& Thomas two-handed rods are designed to meet the needs of all
contemporary casting styles. Our remarkable selection of models with
rods from 10' to 17', in weights from #6 to #11 includes at least two
lengths in each weight class, plus a 12 foot, 12 weight rod designed for
shooting head configurations. All models meet the needs of the most
discriminating caster. The new applications, seemingly without limit,
continue to surprise, delight, and bring growing popularity to
two-handed rods. All rods are furnished with a big game anodized
aluminum reel seat and two-handed grip.
“Our very best salmon and steelhead rivers are often distinguished by a
single great pool. Other rivers, huge and seamless, similarly challenge
the fly. Thomas & Thomas’ new 17 foot two-handed rod now makes
commanding these waters a reality. Entire floating lines can be spey
cast. Forty-five foot Type VI heads with copper tubes can dredge the
deepest currents. For these special big water needs, Thomas & Thomas
has developed the most powerful two-handed rod in fly fishing.”

Thomas started in the shadow of the Summer of Love in the late60's. And
what better time to start a company that quickly becamesynonymous with a
fly rod that was a sweetheart to cast? The onlyproblem, being from

Bay. Never you mind that, Thomas Dorsey and ThomasMaxwell settled with
the East Coast and their bamboo rods rapidlybecame the rod of choice.

their company to Greenfield, MA to take advantage of the
recentlypurchased equipment from Sewell Dunton. Here, they also took on
