Three rather unusual bertha collars, all large and Victorian.
Please note that I am not a lace expert and two of these could be mis-described. I am doing my very best here, but please examine the photo's!
1] Irish crochet or similar large design, with stand up buttonholed flower heads. Could be a chemical lace copy. No damage found, but a little untidy around the neck edge, where it would have been removed from a gown. A rich cream colour.
2] Interesting piece, which I am assuming is a late 19th Century copy of 17th Century lace. [Venetian flat point?????] You could be lucky - it may be real! Some slight darkening at the far edges here and there but generally unstained. A natural stone colour.
3] Strange but hand made rustic bertha, possibly not English. Tape lace type with string threaded through. Mounted on a silk muslin type fabric. A dark stone colour, not at all dainty, rather heavy, but may look perfect on the correct style dress. Excellent condition, but a few black threads remain where it was removed from a gown.
These three collars are quite heavy. If you prefer NON TRACKED shipping/posting, I will oblige but this is at your own risk. I always keep proof of posting. Please contact me for an amended invoice.
