This "Sixth Chakra (intuition and psychic development) Third Eye i.e. A note/toned" singing bowl is made of mainly brass. There are also mixed small amount of seven auspicious metals (gold, silver, mercury, copper, iron, tin and lead) in this hand-hammered bowl. These metals represent heavenly bodies as follows: Gold the Sun, Silver the Moon, Mercury the Mercury, Copper the Venus, Iron the Mars, Tin the Jupiter, and Lead for Saturn. From the very first rotation of striker around rim of the bowl, this bowl starts producing sound/vibration. This bowl keeps vibrating for minutes even after stopping striker to rotate around bowl’s rim. It produces such a relaxing sound that it will hold your attention. This bowl is used for relaxation of mind by producing vibrating sound before yoga practices. A striker and a cushion (let me know if you prefer a cushion of a different color: I have cushions of almost all colors) are included with this bowl. Bowl, striker and cushion together weigh 406gm.
HOW TO PLAY SINGING BOWL:
1) Place (don’t touch/hold bowl with your fingers, it may dampen vibration/sound) bowl on palm of one of your hands.
2) Slide/rotate the striker firmly around rim of the bowl with an even pressure and uniform speed to produce vibration/sound.
3) Vibration and sound can be produced also by just hitting the bowl with the striker.
