We are pleased to offer this exceptionally rare early c1873 Tiffany sterling silver Persian kettle on stand.

Tiffany Persian is highly sought. As it is even more rare than Japanesque.

The set bears very early "1878" pattern marks. This indicates that it is a re-introduction of an earlier, c1868 design.

The kettle with period engraved family crest, of a raised battle axe. Unlike English silver, 19th century American silver with family arms much more rare.

Classic raised globe form.

Elegant star burst florette set within interlocking medallion decorative borders. Followed by all over swirling leaf and floral hand chased decoration. In the Persian manner.

Cover topped with leaf and floral chased button finial.

Well cast overhead swing handle. Rising from vine framed anthemion terminal.

The kettle atop matching stand. Well fashioned acorn cap feathered lead and bell flower top supports, which are detachable for cleaning. Centre supports with twin anthemion and rolled vine medallion.

The stand itself atop vine framed, folded leaf centre three step block feet.

Tiffany Persian kettle on stand is 12 3/4 inches tall and 9 spout to edge.

Thick heavy guage sterling construction weighs 70 1/2 (standard) ounces.

Hallmarked as shown.

In excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. The interior perfectly clean as if little used. The cover closes flush. Handle secure and with original heat stops. Kettle two shallow pinheads, barely noted, burner two tiny bumps.
