Tobacco Pipe Peterson’s
408 St. Patrick ’s Day March 17, 2005
The Peterson brand is
issued from the association of the brothers Friedrich and Heinrich Kapp with
Charles Peterson. The Dublin tobacco shop first named "Kapp Brothers"
(1865) became the "Kapp & Peterson" Company.
Tom Palmer bought the
Peterson business in the early 1990s
The country of
manufacture stamp changed from "Made in Eire" to "Made in Republic of
Ireland" (In circle) about 1945 (this pipe). Later (1947-49) it became
"MADE IN REPUBLIC OFIRELAND" (block letters) stamped in one or two lines. Many of these specialty pipes are stamped in the older style for effect.
This is a fantastic
example of a Peterson’s large apple-shaped pipe with a fish
tail stem. It is one of mine bought new and in perfect condition.
Bore 3/4 inch diameter, 1 1/4 depth, 6 inches long.Round applestyle with thick wood.
Nickelrondelle with a shamrock. Gorgeous bird's eye and flowing straight to cross grain. Absolutely beautiful smoothbriar pipe! Been smoked very little. May need a little break in.
Stand not included.
We spend considerable time on each and every pipe cleaning, conditioning,
sanitizing, and polishing so you get a vintage pipe that is as close to new
condition as it can get but none of the hassle of breaking it in. Despite our
care on each pipe and attempts to describe each and every flaw, we are human
and can miss things. If you have a problem with your purchase please contact we
and we will do our best to make it right. Our goal is happy customers who will
return and send their friends to us. We will be listing many more pipes as well
as some tools, shoes, clothing, and books in coming weeks. Please check back
If we make a mistake on listing or if broken, the purchase
must not have been used by buyer and must be returned in same or similar
