Topping Northrop F-89 Scorpion Plastic Resin Desk Model F-89d Norad Genie Falcon:
I’m continuing to thin out my 30+ year collection of military aviation memorabilia, and have another piece right out of the display cabinet up for sale this week – an original Topping Models Northrop F-89D desk model.
The Scorpion desk model stands approx. 3.25” tall, and with an approx. 5.5” long fuselage and 6” wingspan, is made of plastic and was produced for Northrop Aviation through Topping Models for a variety of occasions … especially as give-aways.
There is no damage or repairs to the model whatsoever, and even the wingtip mounted rocket pod fins are intact.
All of the large aviation companies including Bell, Boeing, Convair, Douglas, Fairchild, General Dynamics, Lockheed, Martin, McDonnell, North American, Northrop, and Republic, had desk and ashtray models produced as give-away items to promote their aircraft. Companies such as Aero Novelty, Bronzart, Fomaer, Pacific Miniatures / Pacmin, Precise, Raise-Up, Rehberger, Rolen, Topping, and Verkuyl produced plastic or resin models for the military and civilian airliner market. With the passage of time, many of these vintage models have become extremely rare and are much sought after by collectors today.
High buyer to pay through PayPal, and the F-89D model will be sent to US buyers via USPS Priority Mail in a medium flat rate box. For shipping, and to avoid the potential for damage, I’ll remove the model from the stand.
Good luck with your offerding, and please feel free to email me with any questions or if more photos are needed.
