These are two early issues of Fortune magazine from January and July 1939. Great issues, the July 1939 one features a large section on New York City, complete with a fold out colorized map from 1939. It runs over 240 pages. The July 1939, which of course was the year of the World\'s Fair in NYC, features excellent colorized art deco like rendering of New York, including the subway. Great colorized and black/white ads from Studebaker, RCA Radio City, American Airlines, Fairbanks Morse Diesels, Royal Typewriters, GMC Trucks, etc. The section on NYC includes Part 1, The People (The Melting Pot), Part 2, They Govern Themselves, Part 3, They Earn A Living, Part 4, What is the City (PA Station, Brooklyn, Harlem, Queens, etc.). Section on publishers, Mayor Fiorello Henry La Guardia, 19,000 cops, 7.5 million residents, skyscrapers, 7th Avenue, PA Station, statistics of NYC in 1939, etc. Great issue on NYC, some damage to edges of magazine front cover, old sale sticker on front as well. Measures 14 1/2\" by 11\". It is Vol XX No. 1. The second issue is January 1939, includes section on Monsanto\'s Chemical Company president Edgar Queeny, General Motors Chevrolet, Bodies by Fisher, etc. Great ads.
