Two Matching Vintage Signed Danecraft 12K GF Gold Filled Bangle Bracelets circa between 1940-60

Offered at sale are two (2) matching, vintage, signed Danecraft 12K GF bangle bracelets. These are most likely from sometime between the 1940-1960’s. They are slightly concave in appearance and have textured blocks of intersecting lines to give the bangle lots of textural appeal. There is a shiny center line separating the two sides. The design is quite different from, and more modern than, the florals and scrolls seen on many bangles.

They are hallmarked DANECRAFT 12K.T. G.F. on the inside of the bangle. These are pretty solid and heavy and do not have that “give” that some flexible bangles have so please measure your hand at its widest area as these bangles do not open nor are they flexible. I have a large hand with an 8 inch hand area to slide over and a 7 inch wrist so you can see how it fits me in the photo.

These would be a great gift for your twin girls or for a mother and daughter to share. Or maybe you and your BFF would love to share these. I think they look great paired on the wrist!

Approximate Measurements:

Outside diameter: 2 3/4 inches

Inside diameter: 2 5/8 inches

Width: 1/4 inch

Weight: one is 15.4 and one is 15.7 grams for a total of 31.1 grams

They are in excellent vintage condition and have only been lightly cleaned and polished. They will come back to former glory with a steam clean and polish especially around the center line. There is a slight patch of gold fill wear on each bracelet on the inside, see photos. All photos are taken in macro mode for magnification.

These are NOT new light weight copy imports from you know where! They are old world made in Rhode Island with care and craftsmanship from the Danecraft Company (see below). This matching pair came to me as part of an estate sale in Long Beach, CA. Vintage items may show the transit of time, but that’s their allure.

“DANECRAFT JEWELRY: 1920’s- 1940 - Present
The Primavera brothers, Victor and Thomas emigrated from Italy in 1910 and founded Primavera Brothers Jewelry Company in 1920 in Providence, RI where they produced jewelry and silver beads. The Primavera Brothers Jewelry Company was an early manufacturer of costume jewelry and a pioneer in introducing quality designs used previously in fine jewelry. In 1934, Victor Primavera Sr. founded the Danecraft Corporation under Felch and Company in Providence, RI manufacturing sterling silver jewelry and silver beads designed under Danecraft. The Primavera company began using modern machines, producing quality sterling silver and vermeil jewelry with designs similar to Scandinavian jewelry. The name Danecraft was adopted because of Victor\'s preference for Danish silversmithing tradition and designs. In the 1940’s, Danecraft manufactured silver jewelry and silver beads with exquisite designs inspired by nature. Advertisements appeared in national magazines and jewelry sold in finer stores. Danecraft sterling silver jewelry was some of the best manufactured in terms of quality of design and craftsmanship the industry had to offer during post-war decades. In the 1970’s, Danecraft introduced their vermeil lines with 24k gold over sterling and expanded their distribution network along with designing a collection of 14k jewelry and silver beads under the name: “Primavera Jewelry and Silver Beads” in New York. In 1977, the company changed its name to Felch-Wehr Company but still markets under Danecraft. In the 1980‘s, the company expanded and diversified their designs. Danecraft is still privately owned and operated by the Primavera family. Skilled craftsman are still working at the company using precious metals in designing and producing the same high quality fashion jewelry that the Primavera family has been known for throughout its history. The company, under the name Felch-Wehr, is still in business today, in 2005, and their costume jewelry of sterling silver and gold metal content is sold in better department stores throughout the USA.”
