Ulf Karona Panoramic 8 X 20 Inch Gundlach Banquet Camera 5 Five Film Holders For Sale
Here is a very rare camera. It is an 8 x 20 inch Karona Panoramic View Camera. These were also referred to as banquet cameras. This camera is marked Gundlach Mfg. Corp. Rochester, N. Y. These are referred to as ULF or ultra large format cameras. These old cameras are hard to find. I bought this one in 1983 from a portrait studio in Wichita Falls, Texas. It was used to take photos of groups of men at Sheppard Air Force Base. This camera is in working order. There is the camera, lens board, five film holders, an two old sheets of 8 x 20 film. The camera has a good bellows. Probably replaced in the 70's. It's very solid. The back works great, and the ground glass is good. The swing and tilt on the back works like it should. The rise and fall on the front works fine. The leather handle at the top of thecamera is torn and missing a piece. Looking at the back of the camera the left side has a crack in the wood. I think there is a small strip of wood missing on the back. This would not effect an exposure. The 9th image shows what I am talking about. Some of the film holders are rough. A few are in good shape. If you did some restoration you would have three or four good holders. The lens board has not been drilled, so it's ready for any lens you may have. It does take a wide lens to cover the 20 inch back. This is a great old camera, and would be ready to shoot with. This is a very heavy camera with holders.
