Unusual Styled Mariano Fortuny Micro Pleated Silk Long Gown For SaleUNUSUAL STYLE MARIANO FORTUNY PLEAT SILK LONG GOWN This gown dates to the very early 19th C, by Mariano Fortuny, and was acquired from the same estate as the stenciled velvet Gallenga jacket being offered this week.
The gown was altered from its original form in the period, a period alteration with a 1930's zipper closure added to the back. The top is in heart shape and ruffled, with straps over the shoulders, bow trimming its front. Alterations were all hand sewn. CONDITION: there are several thumbprint brown stains on the rear at the point of the knee, several eraser sized holes in the bottom when held to light with the shoulder straps having some small fray breaks at the center top shoulder. The gown is strong, no splitting to the silk fold (a common flaw seen with some Fortuny silk gowns). The gown is strong and fully wearable. 36 inchesWAIST: 26 inchesLENGTH: 60 inches
