US 65 on ca. 1864 mourning cover with Boston Jul 16 Mass. (July - Massachusetts) circular dated postmark with indistinct circular postmark tying stamp to cover --- addressed to Mrs. A. G. Howell, Seth Bateman, Newport, Rhode Island --- slight soiling --- horizontal crease at top

Slight damage at lower left corner (from front) --- back cover flap torn open, but complete --- most likely from the Ernest A. Mosher collection, as it has the same notes as other items that came with this lot and were exhibited in his book, Mourning Covers; DARK STRIP ACROSS BOTTOM OR SIDES IS THE PLASTIC HOLDER IN THE SCAN
