The US Eighth Army broke out from the Pusan Perimeter in Korea in September 1950, and surged north pursuing the defeated Norks until Chinese forces struck across the Yalu River. US forces retreated south until General Ridgway reorganized the Eighth Army, and started north again in January 1951. By March they had retaken Seoul, reducing it block by block, and by April they were once again astride the Parallel. The opportunity was there to evict the ChiComs from Korea once and for all, but by that point, the emphasis in Washington had changed from victory to containment. This US Army Korea M-1947 HBT FIELD COMBAT SHIRT is in near mint condition, with a loose thread to the right chest pocket button, a pinhole at the back left cuff, and with some light overall wrinkling evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the shirt is in near mint shape, with no other damage to the crisp HBT 100% cotton construction, which retains 100% of the original rich, dark OD color. Most interestingly, it\'s a Size Small, boasts single exposed button flap closure chest pockets, and is dated \"12 MAR. 1951\" in the nomenclature stamping at the inside neck.
