This listing is for an 1945 dated M-1936 canteen set. You get everything you see in the pictures: the metal canteen, cup and the canvas cover. This particular canteen is of the same type used during WW2 by the US Army. However since it is dated 1945 it likely saw service after the war occupying West Germany, Japan, or in Korea and Vietnam. All components of this set are extensively marked by the soldier it was issued to. He wrote his name and serial number on the canvas cover, and scratched his initials into the cup. This canteen would be a great addition to a militaria collection, but it can also be used for outdoors activities like reenacting and airsoft.
