U.s. Ca. 1820 Militia Officers Saber/sword Pre Civil War For Sale
Large,nice Circa 1820 American Militia Officers sword.This one was retailed by C & ID Wolfe New York which is marked on the back of the blade,along with the word WARRANTED. I believe they were in business from 1816-1829.The handle is 1vory, ribbed and in very good condition.Brass reverse P guard with 2 langets. There is one hard to see old repair were the guard makes a 90 degree turn,and by the sword knot slot. The 32" long 1 1/2" wide blade has a single wide fuller, and is bright grey in color. It is bright etched with various scrolls,military trophies,and a large American Eagle with riband. Blade is straight,with no rust or nicks.The brass scabbard has a few very tiny dents along the bottom edge,with other dents or problems.
