Us Wwii Named Kia Group 141st Inf 36th Div Lost Batt. W/hawley Liner Misc Gear:
Original, good used condition. All these items are authentic and original from the WWII 1943-1944 time period. A rare grouping all belonging to SSgt. Raymond T. Weidner who was a member of Co. F, 141st Infantry Regiment of the 36th Infantry Division and was killed in Action in Eastern France on September 25th, 1944. His unit was known as the "Lost Battalion" due to their encirclement by German forces. You can search more information on this unit on line and see their incredible story. They were eventually rescued by the famous 442nd Infantry, the famous Japanese-American unit. They are the most highly decorated unit of WWII. I purchased this grouping directly from the surviving family members. They gave me the original Newspaper clipping of SSgt. Weidner's Obituary from the war when he was sent home for burial. These items were all stuffed in a bag since after being shipped back to the family after SSgt Weidner was killed and action, and all items are as found and in as pictured condition. In one of the last pictures in the listing... This is how I purchased the items from the family, all stuffed in the OD linen bag. Included in this listing are SSgt. Weidman's named and stenciled Hawley Liner(which has a tear in the back with some stains to the outside, but has the original leather chinstrap and sweatband with all the original liner straps along with his name stenciled on the front), his cartridge belt and pistol web belt with canteen and first aid pouch. The canteen has some dents and is dated 1944 and the cartridge belt is dated 43 along with the first aid. Please see the photos for detailed information. A pair of his socks and his Infantry Overseas hat, named inside to Weidman. Also included are his original leggings. This is not some made up for grouping. All these items were owned and worn by SSgt Weidman when he was killed in action in 1944. These items have been stored away for the last 69 years and this is the first time they are being offered for sale. I have some more of his items that were sent back, but some are not allowed to be listed on . An exceptional original grouping for your collection. I hope this one makes it to a good home who will appreciate its historical importance. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
