Usmc M1910 Scabbard For M1905 Springfield Bayonet For Sale
This is a new reproduction of the very rare USMC version of the M1910 Scabbard for the M1905 Springfield Bayonet. The USMC version is the same internally, with a wooden body covered in rawhide and a metal throat. The cover is quite different, made of lightweight canvas instead of heavy web, with a very pronounced side seam, and a dark cordovan leather tip with a brass drainage eyelet. These scabbards were issued to Marines from 1910, but were still in use at the beginning of WWII, and were probably the most common scabbard taken by the 1st Marine Division to Guadalcanal. If you look closely at films of Iwo Jima, you can seesome still in use there, including one taken up Suribachi by one of the members of the flag-raising patrol. My reproductionis made just like the originals: Wood covered in rawhide covered in khakicanvas with leather tip and brass hook. No markings. Seam on trailing side of cover. Guaranteed to fit your bayonet and delight you. I have sold over 1000 of the standard Army version of this scabbard. This a "Buy it Now" sale on multiple quantities. If you want more than one you can change the quantity on the "Buy it Now" Page.
