AN OUTSTANDING EARLYMARINE CORPSDRESS BLUE UNIFORM CAP IN SUPERB CONDITION.
THIS CAP WAS PART OF MICHAELVON DECKBAR'S COLLECTION OF MARINE CORPS UNIFORM.
THE WOOL IS MOSTLY CLEAN JUST A LITTLE DUSTY. I FOUNDA COUPLE OF SMALL MOTH HOLES ON THE TOP EDGE AND ANOTHER ONE ON THE SIDE WHICH ARESHOWN IN MY PICTURES.
THE VISOR AND CHIN STRAP ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND FIRMLY ATTACHED. THE EGAHAS A VERY NICE PATINA.
THE SWEATBAND SHOWS ITS AGE WITH NO MARKING REMAINING. IT IS FIRMLY ATTACHED AND MAY HAVE BEEN RESTITCHED AT SOME POINT PROBABLY DURING THE PERIOD OF USE. THE WICKER LINER IS COMPLETE AND SOLID MAINTAINING SUPERBLY THE SHAPE OF THIS CAP.
A REMARKABLE EXAMPLE OF THIS SELDOM FOUND HEADGEAR FOR THE U.S. MARINE CORPS. AND IT WILL MAKE AN OUTSTANDING DISPLAY.
NOTE THAT A COUPLE OF MY PICTURES SHOW THE BLUE WOOL WITH A GRAY REFLECTION, THE CLOTH IS UNIFORMLY DEEP BLUE AND IT IS MERELY A REFLECTION FOR MY PHOTO STUDIO LIGHTS.
