Very rare and a great knife but I have had it long enough and it is time to move it along. A great piece of vintage Remington history here. The R4283 5 bladed sowbelly is one of the rarest vintage Remington knives to get your hands on. Probably partly because it is worth $7,500 in mint condition and listed as very rare in most knife books. Obviously this one is not mint, and shows blade wear and loss. Overall I would rate this knife in good condition. Blades all open and close with good snap. Light surface scratches on all blades from sharpening and use but nothing extreme. I am no knife expert (it's more of a hobby to me) but I did have the knife looked at by several other collectors and they all rated the knife at good to good plus for condition. They were unsure as to whether or not the bone scales have been replaced but it is possible because they sure look great! That said and with the rarity off this pattern, I know someone out there is looking for one of these... Good Luck and thanks for your interest! Please feel free to ask questions, I will do my best to answer them.
