This late in life albumen photograph of the President in rocking chair surrounded by family on the porch of their New York home. Identified on verso is also Col. Fred Grant facing center with daughter in-laws + grandchildren on steps, credited by "Record + Epler", Saratoga, New York, dated June 19, 1885. (Frederick Dent Grant) (1850 – 1912), was a soldier and United States minister to Austria-Hungary. Grant was the first son of General of the Army and President of the United States Ulysses S. Grant and Julia Grant. He was named after his uncle, Frederick Tracy Dent. The Grant family came from a line of Scottish and Irish heritage.Archival labels affixed to verso, of 'Culver Pictures, Inc.', with notes and ink stamps also on verso with rubbing to corners and creasings throughout albumen, some deep, as shown, overall fair condition.
