Radio Shack Science Fair One Tube radio P-box kit.

This kit lets you build a vacuum tube AM radio receiver.

Reproduction kit with replica P-Box case

Hinged P-Box case (top and bottom can easily be separated if desired). Precision CNC drilled hole pattern.

You have 3 ways to assemble this kit! 1) You can assemble it as-is with the clear base. 2) Use the supplied tape and paper insert, to create the classic red base color. 3) Paint the base any color you want.

The case is clear plastic, and comes with a red paper insert, and red vinyl tape, which are used to make the case red. The red tape provides an excellent, consistent, glossy finish! The red paper insert reflects a red tint to the top of the case. White, blue, dark blue, green, orange and black colored tape are also available. The kit comes with red tape, unless you specify a different color. For colors other than red, no paper insert is supplied. If you prefer a painted red base, it is a simple job to paint it with ordinary spray paint.

Kit includes a vintage 3-terminal loopstick tuning coil just like the original, and NOS (new old stock), carbon composition resistors! Includes tested vacuum tube. Also comes with vintage spring terminals! These parts are no longer manufactured, but we have a limited supply.

Instructions and Construction Hints pamphlet are supplied as JPEG images on a CD-R. Color insert is a reproduction, and must be trimmed to size, if you want to insert it in the case. Top tab is a paper reproduction, not plastic.

Powered by two batteries (AA and 22.5 volt), not included. You can use two, ordinary 9 volt transistor radio batteries, in place of the 22.5 volt battery. Kit comes with two 9-volt battery connectors. See our other listings for a 22.5 volt battery.
