Offered is an Office of Provost Marshall pass through lines measuring approx. 3x7 dated May 11th 1863 with nice vignettes. Harper's Ferry Va. May 11th 1863….Guards and Pickets pass J.G. Harrison to Bolivar Through the Lines, he having taken the prescribed Oath to Support the Government of the United States, signed Captain e. M. Mobley. Very good condition. Dated on the day that Stonewall Jackson died. Ironically Confederate General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson captured Harpers Ferry, Virginia (present-day West Virginia), and some 12,000 Union soldiers as General Robert E. Lee's army moves north into Maryland.
