This pretty black cameo appears to have once been mounted in either a pendant or locket setting as there is old glue around the edges. It is very light in weight, warm to the touch, and leaves a brown (not black) mark on the back of a tile. I have not done the \"hot pin\" test as I do not want to possibly harm the piece. I am not sure if this is gutta percha, jet or bog oak, but it does not have any obvious mold marks that I could detect when looking at it under my loupe, but since it is more of a matte finish than shiny, I am leaning towards bog oak. It is NOT glass and is NOT stone. Since I am not sure, the starting offer reflects this. This is being sold \"as is\" for re-purpose and place into your own setting and no returns accepted.
