Unusual Antique French Silver Thimble With Lady's Face * Circa 1900:
Antique Silver Thimble
French * Circa 1900
This unusual French silver thimble has an embossed band with a woman's face on the front and balusters around the sides. It is stamped with the French boar's head hallmark for 800/1000 pure silver. It also has the maker's mark for Jacob & Jean Lévy. They worked in the rue Réaumur in Paris from 1888 to 1908.
One side has some fine needle holes but it's in otherwise nice condition, in round with no dents, repairs or other damage. It's about an American size 9 (16 mm diameter opening).
