Unusual Egyptian Revival 3" Sash Brooch - Black & Red With Scarab & Rams For Sale
I am pleased to offer at sale a very unusual sash brooch which has been in my own personal collection for many years. Itmost definitely reflects the Egyptian Revival themewhich was very popular in the 20s and 30s. I would guess this brooch dates from the early 30s. I believe the black background piece is glass while the scarab and red inserts are hard plastic. Although bakelite was very popular during this time frame, I don't believe that any part of this brooch is bakelite. It features an Egyptian design in the overall metal work but especially in the two rams on either side of the central plaque. I prefer to leave that great old patina on all my jewelry but if shiney is your preference, this could most likely be done with a bit of metal polish. It is a fairly substantial piece with no damage to report. It measures a whopping 3" across and 2" wide. It is not marked as to maker nor as to metal content. I am offering this lovely sash brooch with a low opening offer. I can ship to any US address for $3.00. I do ship to other countries but require a shipping method which furnishes a tracking number and which requires a signature upon delivery. This can be very costly, so offer accordingly. Please feel free to e-mail with any questions. Good luck!
