UNUSUAL Pattern: Vintage Feed Sack Cotton Hand Sewn REBECCA\'S FAN Quilt; Good:
$142.50

Please be advised this quilt has NO batting: it is just the top and the backing held together by the quilting stitches, that were applied by hand following the contour of the fans.
The setting was done all by hand, as far as we were able to ascertain looking into the seams in many areas of the quilt.
The fabrics used for the fans are all feed sack; the backing is also 100% cotton, as well as the other fabrics used in the top side.
The quilt has a \"frame\" of feed sack all around it, visible on pics # 2, 3, 4 and at close-up range, pic # 11.
The pattern seems to be not common, at least under that name: we found a Rebecca\'s Fan block in the Spencer Museum of Art of the University of Kansas, Lawrence. Not much else.
But in our \"dictionary\", it is clear our quilt is Rebecca\'s Fan, named in 1931 by the Kansas City Star (also in The Romance of the Patchwork Quilt in America, page no. 70).
It is a beautiful, graphically impressive little quilt that measures 80\" by 72\"; the bed is a queen, 80\" by 60\".
