Unusual Vintage German C1930's Bakelite, Deco-design Folding Camera For Sale
c1932 - NIKETTE - c1936 Lucht - Berlin, Germany

DESCRIPTIONEarly German made c1932 NIKETTE. A unusual 4" x 3" pocket sized black bakelite bodied folding camera with a bold period deco design lens board. The
lens board is polished nickel with the name NIKETTE engraved on the face. Large nickel plated dial on top controls the focusing of the lens board.
CONDITION This example of the 80+ year old 'NICKETTE is in very nice, collectable condition. ( See
Images ) The bakelite body in good condition with a few exceptions. There is 1/32 x 2" lip of the body on the back that is missing where it slides onto the main body.
There is also what I thought was a name that was scratched on the bottom of the camera that is nearly invisible to read. ( see image above ) It is located next to the sliding latch that locks the back onto the front half of the camera. Actual it
is not a name but a up & down 'caret' symbol and the German word KINO or "film". It indicates that the sliding button on the bottom is pushed forward and backwards to release & lock the back of the body in order to access the film
compartment. The shutter works properly but the sliding open/close lock that holds and releases the lens board does not work.
Overall this is an excellent example of a very early and scarce pre-war German made camera. I would rate it a 8 for those that collect early bakelite or deco-design cameras.
