Up for sale:

this unusual Powder Flask top by G. & JW. Hawksley from Sheffield (the famous gun implement manufacturers).

The top is heavy and of the usual high Hawksley quality. It is marked: G & JW HAWKSLEY.

The spout has a 4-step graduated scale marked "DRAMS" and 2 - 2¼ - 2½ - 2¾.

The original locking screw is present.

The charger has an outside spring which is broken, but still present for 50%. The spring has some of the original blued finish remaining.

Thumb piece and cut off lever are working fine.

What makes this flask top so special is the range of numbers on the collar...

The numbers are: 3,5 65 / 5, 92 / 4,5 83 / 4,1 76 / 3,95 73

It seems most likely that these are charging conversions from the DRAMS system to the French / European decigrammes system.
