Very Fine ~ Sterling Silver Mesh Purse Handbag Antique Victorian Nouveau For Sale
Offered here is a beautiful, very fine solid sterling mesh antique purse from the Art Nouveau era. The sterling frame has a gorgeous design with high relief tulip blossoms and nouveau swirls. The design is identical on both sides of the purse. The purse has abeautiful oval shape. The purse measures 8 1/2" long (with finger loop & chain) and 4 3/8" wide. The purse is 5 1/2" long without the chain. The exterior of the purse is in overall fantastic condition as far as I can tell. I cannot find any missing loops, and the interior corners look perfect. There are no splits or repairs. There is one minor ding on one side of the frame. The interior frame of the purse is marked "Sterling" with the number 292. There is no monogram. The purse snaps shut nicely, and opens as it should. The purse weighs a very substantial 4.9 ounces. This is such a gorgeous, original antique purse!! Thank you for looking.
