Very Important Vintage Solid 925 Silver Judaica Kiddush Cup And Salver 544grms:
This is the finest vintage 925 solid silver kiddush cup and salver I have ever seen. The all round views of Jerusalem are deeply hand chased as is the towered stem and the handsome solid footing. Adding to the quality, the cup interior is gilt washed.
On the solid silver base isa hand written inscription from the former owners dated "2000", and very importantly below this it is signed by the famous silversmith Sam Philipe. (See Google for his credentials).
The matching saucer or salver has a solid silver rim and paved base all finely decorated with the walls and towers of Jerusalem.
The whole is fully marked 925 solid silver and fully tested. The cup alone weighs 414grms or 13.35ozs. The salver weighs a total of 130grms, thus the overall silver weight of the two peices is 17.1/2ozs., or 544grms.
The large cup measures 6" high, and 3" wide at the flared lip. The salver is 5" in diameter, and 1/2" deep. As I mentioned above, the condition of both pieces is pristine. There are no dents, holes, deep scratches, or restoration. For 13 years, someone took loving care ofthis beautiful cup and saucer.
Postage to Europe is 25 sterling. Other destinations, please ask me.
This is a vintage set to treasure, perhaps it was bespoke made for the former owners since it is hand signed by the famous silversmith Sam Philipe. Anyway, to own it is to own a work of art.
Considering its´weight the starting price is most reasonable, and completely discounts its unique beauty.
