VERY Large Antique Gold-Filled Hand-Carved Scenic Shell Cameo Brooch, 2\" Long:

This is VERY large antique hand-carved shell scenic cameo brooch dating back to around 1910 to 1920. The brooch is in a rectangular shape and is set in gold-fill. The cameo itself is hand-set into a large gold filled rectangular bezel and then mounted onto a gold frame. Also, there\'s a twisted gold rope around the entire bezel. Specific measurements are as 2\" long by about 1¾\" across
Featured is a sort of landscape scene with a two-story house in the foreground with a diagonaloutside stairway. The house has an open door and you see a lady in a long dress who appears to have just walked outside. The background scenery includes a river, a bridge over that river, and someone else walking on the bridge. You see more houses and structures in back, together with trees and stone buildings and more. I believe that\'s a tree directly behind the house. The brooch is not signed but a very nice jeweler tested it for me and pronounced it indeed gold-filled. Also, notice in the last two photos on this page that the brooch still retains it\'s original \"C\" clasp, so indicative of much costume and fine jewelry from the early part of the 20th century
The hand-crafting on this scenic cameo is very well rendered, with lots of detail. Overallcondition isEXCELLENT for both the brooch and cameo.You see NO damage or anything else wrong. You can begin wearing this brooch as soon as you remove it fromit\'s wrappings
