Very Nice U.s. Eagle Head Sword Saber Early 19th Century:
This magnificent U.S. Eagle Head Officer's Sword dates circa 1820. It is mounted with an impressive blade that measures 34 1/4 inches in length. The wonderful multi-grooved, clipped point blade has survived in very nice condition and continues to wear much of the original gold and bright blue and has only minor aged staining. The stirrup guard is simple in design and crowned with a fabulous Eagle Head pommel and frames lovely checkered carved natural grip. The grip, although has a couple of small chips near the pommel, does remain healthy in condition and has now richly mellowed with age. The brass metal scabbard wears simple but very nice fittings and also remains in very nice serviceable condition. Overall measuring 40 1/4 inches in length. (please note other items shown as props are not included in this sale)
