PRETTY VINTAGE SHELL CAMEO BROOCH This lovely vintage carved shell cameo probably dates from the 1930s. The lady is exceptionally pretty and is wearing a hair ornament and jewellery. The cameo is set as a brooch with twisted ribbon surround in a rosy coloured metal which is unmarked and untested so I am unsure whether it is gold. It has a strong pin and \'c\' clasp as well as a safety chain attached. Condition is good for the age. There are some internal stresses in the shell visible on the back but these do not break the surface.
