Up for sale is a Fine and Very Rare 19thc Chinese Imperial Court Necklace. The Necklace is or superb quality throughout, really one of the finest court necklaces I have personally seen. The Necklace is finely carved with 108 natural cherry amber beads, along with yellow jade mounted turquoise stone beads, authentic lapis lazuli beads, orange carnelian stone, hair rock crystal teardrop pendants, and a magnificent green turquoise central medallion. The Court Necklace is also finely mounted with gold gilt silver. The Necklace is in very fine original condition with no missing stones, or other damage of any kind. The Necklace is a large example measuring approximately 50 inches long. The cherry amber beads measure approximately 9/16ths on an inch wide, the turquoise beads measure 7/8s on an inch wide, the largest hair crystal pendant measures 3/4s on an inch wide, by 1 1/4 inches long, and the central green turquoise medallion measures 1 3/4 inches wide, by 1 1/4 inches tall.I believe Cherry Amber examples like this are exceptionally rare finds, and very few examples like this were ever made. Also the cherry amber is so fragile and delicate that many would have gotten destroyed. I have been told some very similar examples like this have sold for substantial amounts at the high ends sales in recent years, with a number of examples achieving into the tens of thousands. So it is well worth looking into the necklace and what its value may be. The Necklace is a Truly Exceptional work or art. Provenance: The Necklace along with many of the other items listed are from the estate of a prominent family. The Family owned large amounts of land in Hong Kong in the earlier 1900s period which in turn made them extremely wealthy. The Family travelled extensively with residence all over the world. One of their main residence is here in Toronto which is how I acquired the items through estate lawyers I work with settling estates. I was told the collector was actively buying at high end galleries and sales houses all over the world throughout the 1950-70s period. I was told he was well known for spending large sums of money if he seen an item he liked. Some of the items were also family pieces which were inherited by the collector and have been in the family since the earlier 1900s period. PLEASE REVIEW PAYMENT AND RETURN POLICIES PRIOR TO offerDING. BEST OF LUCK WITH THE sales! Mark your calendars this sale ends theEvening of Sunday July 21st.
