Very Rare Ww1 Photo Album - No1 Canadian Gen Hospital, Etaples, France -165 Pics For SaleYou are looking at a fascinating antique photo album that was compiled during the first world war by a Canadian nurse at the No.1 Canadian General Hospital in Etaples, France. This large album measures 15 inches by 10 inches and contains 165 original WW1 photographs. There are detailed notations below most photos containing dates, places and many names of patients and nurses. The album begins in 1915 in nursing training in London England. Shortly she is at the No. 1 Canadian General Hospial in Etaples, France. Most photos take place at the hospital including photos of patients, nurses, doctors operating, the Searg. Majors at their quarters, a wonderful photo of the nurses holding up a GREETINGS FROM CANADA quilt on Christmas Day 1916, Nurses gathering Daffodils to lay on fresh graves, The 35th Canadians, The 49th Canadians, A wonderful memorial to drummer Leonard Woodward who died in the hospital, football teams, picnics, masquerade parties, a photo of the Honour Roll listing all those who died at the hospital, the funerals of two sisters killed in action, bombing damage, and much more. This is an important piece of Canadian military history and a very thorough resource for anybody working to document this time and place in Canadian Forces nursing history.
