Up for sale is a Victorian butter dish by the Racine Silver Plate Company in Triple plate in one of the "Mask' patterns, the lion face for feet. The Racine Silver Co., operated out of Racine Wisconsin from 1873 until 1882 at which time it was renamed Rockford Silver Plate Company. There fore we can date the butter dish to the 1880's at the latest. The butter dish has a knife rest on the front that is free or repairs, there are no monograms and the insert fits as it should. There is ware to the silver plate as can be seen in the pictures but still a lovely Victorian butter dish.
