Vintage 1920's Washburn Two Point Mandolin For Wm. C. Stahl-solid Braz. Rosewood:
VINTAGE 1920'S WASHBURN TWO POINT
MANDOLIN FOR WILLIAM C. STAHL
Here's a very attractive and fine sounding mandolin from
the roaring twenties-its a Washburn branded two point
made for WM. C. Stahl that is completely original. From the solid, tightly grained, Brazilian rosewood, back
and sides to the compensated Ebony bridge, this is an
elegant and exotic testament to American craftsmanship
at the beginning of the last century. The Washburn engraved, covered plate tuners work
very nicely and the frets and fretboard show little wear.
There is a small amount of relief in the neck but the action
is just over 1/8" at the 10th fret, where neck meets body.Finishes are thin and original and have held up very nicely.
There are some signs of wear as well as scrapes and nicks
as you would expect but, in general, the appearance is very
nice and very clean. One scratch or maybe a very tight crack on the side
between the bass side point and the neck joint is about
1 1/2" long.The body measures 9 3/4" across and is 2" deep as measured
at the tailpiece. 13" scale with a 1 1/8" wide nut. Overall length
is about 23 3/4".Comes with its original Geib case that is in equally nice condition.
Structurally sound-everything works, nothing is missing.A very handsome pair.
