Vintage 1947 Us Navy G-1 Leather Flight Jacket Sz 46 ? For Sale
Excellent collectors piece, rare find from post WW2 period, STENCILED AT
THE BACK OF THE COLLAR U S N. Original US NAVY G-1 leather flight jacket made
by
A. PRITZKER & SONS one of few companies to have original contract with U.S.
Army in beginning of 1930’. Very
desirable size 46.
Model 55J14 G-1 was introduced in
1947 and it is so called first G-1 model designation, replacing famous M 422 A
jacket. The 55J14 typically have
shorter bodies than the M-422A and many have a snugger fit for their stated
size. All of these jackets retain the painted "USN" stencil under the
mouton collar.
Ruggedly made heavy goatskin in seal
brown color ( thru mill. specification) with signs of wear all over the jacket
which we can expect from a sixty year old jacket. Beautiful vintage fleur. It
has double stitched seams, recoiling bi-swing back and is vented under arms.
NOTE: very rare, all on this jacket is ORIGINAL and in very good vintage condition,
Genuine pure rayon satin lining
immaculate condition, as is legendary
CONMAR bell shaped zipper. Buttoned, flapped cargo pockets at waist and
one inside “ orders” pocket with snap button. You'll also find pen slot on the
left pocket . The double thick leather tab under the zipper.
Original waist band is single layer of
rib-rack, same as on the famous predecessor M-422 jacket, very good condition, all
though cuffs have some damage should be re stitched. See pictures please.
All over very
collectible and wearable jacket in very good vintage condition. Original US

tag no readable, my guess size 46, as I have three different contracts ( years)
in my personal collection in size 46, this jacket has equal
measurements.
Measurements
are: 23” armpit to the armpit , 19“ shoulder seam to the shoulder seam , 26" shoulder seam (top of shoulder) to the end
of cuff outside 19 1/2" pit to cuff and 25 ½“ from nap of neck ( bottom of collar) to the
end of waist band. Please compare with the measurements of your favorite jacket
to insure a proper fit.
