Vintage 1953 Gretsch Super Structure Silvertone Archtop Model 714 Project F Hole:
$211

VIntage 1953 Gretsch Super Structure archtop guitar being sold as a PROJECT guitar. Note the SILVERTONE emblem on the headstock and the GRETSCH emblem on the tailpiece. This was the only guitar Gretsch ever made that was sold for SEARS.
Serial number penciled in is 8066, indicating manufacture date of 1953. Please note defects in the pictures. I tried to capture every angle. Binding will need to be replaced. Tailpiece is broken and will need to be repaired (a possible weld might do it). Block inlays on frets 3, 5 and 7 are raised above the fingerboard. Pickguard is damaged beyond repair. Tuners are in good shape, with the exception of the "D" tuner's shaft being bent a bit- it still works, though. Back of the guitar is in very good shape, although it will need some gluing. Front has lots of lacquer checking but no splitting of the wood.
There may be other issues with it that I am not aware of. I'm a player, not a repair tech. Just remember that the guitar is being sold in AS IS CONDITION WITH THE ABOVE MENTIONED REPAIRS AND POSSIBLE OTHER UNKNOWN ISSUES. No case is included, by I will pack it very carefully. I try to describe my items to a fault as evidenced by my response comments, which I encourage you to read. I am honest, reliable and a fast shipper. Questions? Please ask BEFORE you offer/buy. I check my emails regularly.
Shipping to the lower 48 states will be a flat $28.50. Local pickup is always welcomed and free. I would appreciate payment within 48 hours of sale end. Thanks for looking.
ENJOY THE MUSIC......... LARRY

On May-14-13 at 17:18:49 PDT, seller added the following information:

An ER wanted to know what that "drip" from the pickguard to the bottom of the guitar was. It appears to be some residue left by the pickguard when it apparently melted- my guess was that it was left in the trunk of a hot car and it melted and dribbled down. I removed just a bit of that gunk with my fingernail, and it lifted the lacquer up. I didn't want to keep going. If I were the one removing this, I would probably attack the surface lightly with a heat gun and/or denatured alcohol to minimize damage to the lacquer. Hope that helps. I sent him a few detailed pics of the area but for some reason I was not able to post them on . Please let me know if you would like to see them. Thanks! Larry
