Vintage 1960's - 70's Victorian Ruched Organdy Mutton Sleeve Silk $ Rayon Gown :
Iconic late 1960s Victorian style formal, bridesmaid or prom gown. The bodice is ornately done with a high ruffled collar, satin ribbons, full mutton style sleeves, flower appliques - some are missing and a stifc organd fabric in ruched style. The garment is lined with loud, stiff rayon acetate - white under bodice and pink under skirt. A silk overlay covers most of the acetate skirt but it shrank when l hand laundered this gown. My mother wore this in 72' and her sister made it in 68". It was a prom gown. Please see photos.
Perfectly clean and crisp white where it should be. Fully functioning zipper. Snaps at wrist are loose. Overlay could be removed, used for other project or the gown could be shortened which would be very cute as well. Great prom dress for the vintage lover.
