Vintage 1960's Schwinn Paramount 3 Speed Deluxe Racer All Original For Sale
Here is your chance to own a highly sought after collector bicycle from Schwinn. This bicycle entered our family in 1970 or 1971. It has been garaged the whole time it has been in our family. We have done some research on this bike and here is what we came up with. I can't guarantee the accuracy of this info so if we are wrong on something, please understand that we are not bike proffessionals. The description below is from a friend that is a bike collector.
Wheels:SchwinnTubular steel chrome rims (they're clincher though). Double butted steel (not stainless) spokes laced to a Sturmy archer rear hub (again chrome and in excellent shape cosmetically) and Campagnolo Nuovo Record high flange front hub.
Crankset: Campagnolo Nuovo Record (fluted) double converted to a single (this appears to be a stock conversion. Campagnolo Nuovo record Bottom Bracket.
Headset: Campagnolo Nuovo Record (this is in rougher shape with visible corrosion on the cups.) Spins smoothly though.
Brakes: Weinmann center pull with matching Weinmann brake levers.
Saddle: Brooks (this will need to be replaced)
Stem: Titan Chrome
Handlebar: Chrome unknown make
Rear Rack: Pletscher made in switzerland (as I understand it an exceedingly rare rack). Its in good shape overall
Overall this is an extremely interesting bicycle that has some very valuable items attached to it. Its well worth time and money restoring, and could be brought back to very near its original condition. Again this bicycle was not ridden very much, and certainly not harshly. The wear is consistant of sitting in the sun and being shuffled around a garage. Give it the TLC it deserves!
