Vintage 1965 Enid Collins *roan* Horse & Strawberries Wood Box Bag For Sale
From an Estate Sale, this VINTAGE ENID COLLINS WOOD BOX PURSE is called "ROAN". Enid grew up in Texas and became well known for her various types of purses, canvas totes, buckets and her wood box ones. Each one was expertly designed and covered with jewels, charms, & beads. This one is no exception. The purse features a large WHITE HORSE with red strawberries decorating the body and tiny white pearl like flowers with gold rhinestone centers on the mane and tail. The horse even has a blue rhinestone eye. The purse has one hard white handle and a white colored leather closure. The leather shows minimal age wear from use and age. The name of the purse is on the left side and the "ec" signature on the right. It is also signed on the inside: "The Original Box Bag by Collins of Texas Hand-Decorated for You Copyright 1965 Enid Collins". Measuring approx 8"H X 11" across, the purse is in overall good condition. There are 2 Strawberries missing, but all the other embellishments are intact. There are some discolorations on the front and hinge side of the purse and 4 scratches on the back (see all the pictures) The inside of the purse is in very good condition, with no odors or stains. It has the original mirror intact, with some oxidation showing through. I took a lot of pictures, so you could see the purse at all angles. Still presents well. Please email with questions.
