VINTAGE ILLINOIS POCKET WATCH
Up for sale is a vintage antique 16S Illinois pocket watch. This estate find watch is NOT currently running and is thus being sold for restoration, repair or parts, and as is. Further details are as follows:
Dial: Arabic numerals, dial is painted metal and shows wear consistent with age and use; 2 purpled hands, the second hand is missing; the dial is loose and not well secured to the movement.
Movement: 16S; Grade 304 with the marked name \'Milton\'; Model 7; manufactured 1919, 16S; 17 jewels; not running-looks like the balance staff is broken. However, when you turn the crown to wind it immediately makes a sound and the hands start turning, almost like you wind up a toy. It goes for a second or so then stops. It will do the same each time you turn to wind. What else is happening internally, I don\'t know.
Case: GF; back cover shows wear, but no dents; missing bale; front cover/bezel is very difficult to thread back on-likely a cross-threading or stripped threads issue. I will therefore ship with the front cover unattached; glass crystal with chip at the edge by 11 o\'clock.
