Vintage Attwood And Sawyer Art Deco Style Enamel And Diamante Snake Necklace For Sale

Fabulous Art Deco style short necklace made by well respected makers of costume jewelry Attwood and Sawyer. The necklace is quite short around 39cm long in total but the tail and head of the snake hang down a further 4cm. The necklace is made in sections and has a clasp at the back which has A & S (Attwood and Sawyer) impressed into it. The A & C is also on the reverse at the back of the snake's head .The back of the necklace has a gilt finish and there is very little wear to the whole item. Each section of the snake body has a rectangular section of black enamel and at each side there are 2 rows of diamante.Each section is edged with gilt finish. Some of the diamante - just a few are a little darker in colour and there are 3 missing. The clasp works well. The necklace has lots of detail such as the snake's head and it's tail which turns up at the end! I understand that these makers began in 1957 through to today . They also made copies of the jewels owned and worn by the Duchess of Windsor.please note amendment to description re diamante / rhinestone
